Reading Boys School 6th Form

In looking at 6th forms for next year I've noticed that in general, catchment areas do not apply. Can anyone confirm if this is the case for Reading too?

The designated area does still apply for entry into year 12.

I was hoping someone might come along and say ds goes as a day boy and they live just outside the designated area.
Anyone? Please? It seems a shame to board for the sake of 1.7 miles.
