I'm a nurse myself. I don't know if I would encourage my own to go into it. My niece has done better than she ever expected gaining 6A*, 3A's and 2B's we are incredibly proud of her, Shes wanted to go into medicine since she was 3 but hasn't mentioned it in the past couple of years. Anyway she has got into her schools 6th form and is taking Biology Chemistry Psychology and English. And also this program as she thinks she will be watching operations and shadowing doctors rounds. Do you think it's a good idea? My worry is that when the A levels get tough she will start seeing easier options in the NHS and uni will go out the window. I mean, we all know it's dying on its knees and reading that article it sounds like a trap to me. Does it happen anywhere else in the UK? www.humber.nhs.uk/news/New-Medical-Health-and-Social-Care-Academy-launched.htm although if she does still want to be a doctor would it help with her application?
