admission 2018 - outdated information?

dc is in year 6, so looking at the 2018 admission etc, as I understand we need to put in the application during the first hal term.
is it normal for the council website to still have old (admission year 2017) information online? tried to look up the individual schools, but they also seem to have old information online.

It usually gets updated in September in my county. I also got the letter from the LA giving the info to register online in early September. Open days at the secondaries will probably be late Sept/early Oct. Grammar school 11+ registration date may have already passed and 11+ exam is also mid Sept here.

Yes, in my SE London Borough they only have the finalised booklet around Sept and after eAdmissions open but release a shorter leaflet with key dates earlier. I believe this means they can have more accurate 'last distance offered' etc info - however a neighbouring borough puts their booklet out late spring.

eAdmissions are open from 1st August here but the full booklet is out in September.

The only info for 2018 is the priority list details, no schools or distances etc that comes out in September.
