Very interested to hear from anyone with experience of this BTEC? My DS is doing it but now worried that it's a bit fluffy and may not be taken as seriously as other BTECs unless you are going into something very specific to the Travel industry.

My DD has just completed this course. The BTEC support thread may be helpful if you aren't already there.

She isn't going on to uni nor the travel industry.

For DD there was a lot more written work and less clearly practical than we expected. To get the higher grade there was a lot of research and analysis that she wasn't capable of. So not 'fluffy'.

It is clearly aimed at going into Travel/Tourism or related sectors. However one of the reasons we picked it originally was because it does cover a number of generic skills. In particular there were units on
Marketing, Doing a Business plan, Customer Service, Events planning.
(NB only some units are mandatory, so different colleges can choose different units, so important to check what units will be done! We chose one college over another due to units covered.)

Feel free to ask more.
