I need to know the difference if there is one between a pocket dictionary and a mini dictionary? My DD starts secondary school and it's on the list 😬 can anyone help?

The Pocket Oxford dictionary is listed as 18 x 5.8 x 12.4 cm and 1104 pages.

The Oxford mini dictionary is listed as 11.7 x 4.1 x 8.6 cm and 672 pages ie much much smaller.

When I was at secondary school the pocket dictionary was the requirement and you would not be able to get away with only having the mini.

Is a pocket dictionary the one that is slightly bigger? A mini dictionary is the one that is pretty much hand sized.

If it just says dictionary I would just get a mini one. they will have enough to carry around as it is.

x-posted, so maybe the pocket one then. Presumably it has a lot more words in.
