Win Coll Weekends

Hi my son is going to Winchester and he was wondering if on the weekends he could go in to town to shop.

Yes, the boys can go into town on Sundays. My DS is about to start his 4th year, so I'm trying to remember what the deal was when he was in the 1st year. The first few weekends before the exeat they were kept busy as a group, but after that I think they were allowed into town. Some housemasters have slightly different rules though. However, my son has mentioned that quite a few of the local boys go home on Sundays after chapel. We live too far away so he stays in and has worked his way round many of the cheaper restaurants on Sundays. Anything from the Winchester kebab shop to an all you can eat buffet in a Japanese restaurant!
