Alleyn's school

My son is starting year 7 at Alleyn's in September. We want to get everything right for the first year. Two questions: are kickers an acceptable school shoe? and does everything really have to exhibit the school logo and be bought from the prescibed shop (or can we buy something similar elsewhere?). We'll probably get everything right the first year but am wondering if there is any advice from expereienced Alleyn's parents?

no idea on the kickers - seem to remember most boys just have fairly bland black lace ups but am sure they'd be ok if that's what he likes?

it's only the tie and blazer that are actually school specific in the uniform - shirts/trousers/jumpers can be bought anywhere? PE kit is mainly specific so think you have to go through supplier?
