Nearly £130 on five items of school uniform!

The heading says it all. Two blouses, one PE skort, one tracksuit top and a kilt. Most of the uniform is going to be recycled from Lower to Upper School, and I'm a great believer in the wonderful second hand shop. But am still feeling slightly queasy!

That's £26 per item!
Is the kilt very expensive, I guess that is the killer item?

(Perhaps you can save money on shoes and buy £3 black pumps Grin)

Would happily buy cheap shoes - the rate that DD's feet grow!

You're right - the kilt was £41. At least I didn't have to buy a blazer which was nearly £80. :(

Is this a state school? I guess not. Private school uniform - dig deep! We paid over £600 and that was 14 years ago!

Yes our blazer arrived yesterday and it was £100. I genuinely don't own anything that costs a £100. Kilt was £50. We are about £500 in and still have more basics to get plus shoes trainers etc etc. One consolation is that this is DCs first uniform as primary don't have one so I haven't had to pay for one before.

When DD was at a private school we knew of a local dry cleaners that had the logo on file. Logo tracksuit bottoms cost us £7 plus £5 logo rather than the £32 ill fitting school official version - and they never found out or could tell the difference. Grin

Do the blouses have gold fringe?
