Private schools in Cornwall and Devon - talk to me please

Good morning

Due to work relocation we are looking to move from Surrey to Cornwall or Devon.

We have a 13 yo son who will be coming with us (has the option to board at his current school but doesnt want to (thankfully)).

We can be quite flexible on location but the area must tick quite a few boxes:

Not too rural but a happy balance between a thriving village life and quiet location.

Ability for DS to get around by public transport at some stage - we dont want him to feel isolated in his teenage years

Must be plenty for DS to do socially - Scouting/Explorers, Surfing and watersports, cinema, bowling - outdoor life would suit him immensely

Close to a leisure centre would be good - at least by car, 30-40 min journey would be doable

Good welcoming community spirit

Schooling - this is the important bit. He isnt overly sporty but will give most things a go - academically he is just above average and would thrive in a school that has great pastoral care and who would really support him with his (very mild) SEN needs (processing speed only - great reader and speller). An excellent science coverage would grab him. I just dont know where to start looking at schools - people have suggested Kelly and St Josephs so thats a start - what do people think of these schools, their ethos, pupil support, parent oarticipation etc?

We need to look at schools before looking for area to live, obviously.
