She has 28 exams (29 if you count French speaking)

At least one exam every day, with the last on the 16th of June. Only one single day without an exam.

She reckons there's only one other person in school who does the same, and nobody more!

30 including the orals here. One day off until 20 June. It's a long slog.

BrexitSucks · 22/05/2017 20:50

bloody hell. How are you helping her manage not to get stressed?

rainbowjoy · 22/05/2017 20:51

10 GCSEs 23 exams finish 26th June.

LocalEditorMerton · 22/05/2017 20:52

DS is doing 28 (not counting ISAs and Oral exams done before May!)

DorothyL · 22/05/2017 20:55

She's not too bad yet, though will be glad whenthis week is over - it's the heaviest!
Tomorrow she just has one exam from 9 till 10 so that's not too bad.

I'm glad she decided against ad maths or it would have been even more!

20 excluding speakingx2 and cas/coursework. End June 20th. She has a 7 day "break" before a final onslaught.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 22/05/2017 20:57

No. But that's because she did Maths and numeracy in Nov, half of each of her sciences and her eng lit in Jan.

Fleurdelise · 22/05/2017 21:07

How many GCSEs is she taking? DS is taking 10 and I counted 23 exams (without ISAs and oral exams).

DorothyL · 22/05/2017 21:09

11 -
Maths
English x 2
Science x 3
RE

My DD is doing the same except for German instead of RE.

QueenofQuirkiness · 23/05/2017 21:17

DD does 10 GCSEs and has 25 exams in total. I think some of her friends who take Further Maths have 27/28? No idea why they need so many exams, it's endless Shock

CrazedZombie · 23/05/2017 22:06

Physics x3
Chemistry x3
Biology x3
RE x1
Statistics x2
Maths x3
English Lang x2
English Lit x2
Computer Science x2
Media x2
Geography x2
German x3 (1 is oral and 2 are done on same day)

28 if language parts are separate.

CrazedZombie · 23/05/2017 22:11

I think our kids have more tests but they are generally shorter.
For example ds is sitting a physics exam tomorrow that's an hour long and he'll need to sit 2 more to get GCSE physics. We probably did 2x2 hour exams instead.

Lonecatwithkitten · 24/05/2017 07:59

I think Crazed is right we had fewer exams, but the papers were longer. I sat the second year of GCSEs and quite a few of our papers were three hours long. But large number of hours is the feature of formal exams vet school finals 5 days, 2 papers a day, 3 hours a paper, followed by 5 solid days of practicals, vivas and steeplechases.

pointythings · 24/05/2017 08:30

DD has 25 but that is not counting French speaking or the maths she did last year. 30 if you count those. She has also done ECDL and did English speaking though that no longer counts. It's ridiculous.
