I saw the press release, she looks absolutely perfect for the role.

Just be aware that Hull Collegiate is not known for great academic results; leavers' destinations are published on the website.

What is Collegiate like? Thinking about it as a possible for my dds.

Bump

Mousey What are you looking for? From above you will see the current head is leaving and she was not there that long. It is not the most academic or sporty school (state or independent) locally. I know some parents who are happy with it but I also know some are taking their children out ie two yr8 boys moving to Hymers this half-term and a third has asked to swop to catchment school. It does do generous scholarships though.

Hull Collegiate was formed about fifteen years ago from the merger of the (independent) Hull Grammar and a girls' school known locally as Tranby Croft. The new school is on the former girls' school site, as it was less urban. Hymers has been established far longer, and TBH it would be my first choice for an academic child. However, Hymers has big class sizes for an indy.

It could come down to where you live - Hull Collegiate is on the western side of Hull, so handy for the wolds villages, whereas Hymers is practically in the city centre. If you are on the eastern side of Hull, I would suggest that HC is a non-starter.

Sorry, by HC I meant Hull Collegiate, not Hymers College!
