We are coming back to the UK after 20 years abroad and have decided to go with Priors Field for our two girls aged 13 and 11 currently . I am nervous about them settling in as not entering in Year 7 . Any advice ? Are there many students who live locally ? Are there many overseas students ?

Thanks !

Majority of girls live within a 15 mile radius. Very few boarders from overseas. Are there other girls starting in your Years in September.? Girls can/do meet up at weekends in Guildford for shopping/socialising . Where will u be living?

Priors Field has the largest ability range of the four girls schools around Guildford (GHS, St Cats, Tormead other 3). They do have quite a number of children doing foundation exams where it is deemed necessary but also have girls getting multiple A*. Therefore it might depend where you think your daughters would flourish. It's reasonably "rural" as it's away from major transport links which is good and bad. I know St Cats and Tormead take girls into most year groups, after passing their entry exam.

I went for Priors Field as it suits a range of abilites , which my two girls have . They have been so accustomed to a really academic enviroment before with too much homework and so I wanted them to have the chance to embrace the non academic side of life as well .

We are moving back this summer (shank2 ) and looking at Godalming since son will be at Aldro .
Also, wondering how girls meet boys ect socially ? (Not that I am encouraging it necessarily ! )

I've known girls go to Priorsfield from Guildford. It's a pretty easy commute, and there is an alternative to the A3 when it's blocked. I assume you will be driving your DC too and from school? Although you may be able to arrange lift shares.

She could get the train from Guildford- I know there is a minibus which goes from the school in the evening down to Godalming Station which is the local station - not sure what happens in the morning.

Just looked the minibus leaves Godalming station in the morning at 8.05. It is an easy drive in the morning if you were to drive as the majority of traffic is going towards Guildford and not towards PF (everyone else is stuck in traffic going towards Guildford.)

Priorsfield have regular 'socials', particularly with Charterhouse. The girls will often meet boys in Guildford, sometimes London. From the experience I have there seems to be a few groups that make spontaneous plans to meet at weekends, with parties every few weeks at one parents house or another. So, a fair exposure to meeting boys. Their social circle will often widen to include a variety of other schools including RGS, lancing, Eton etc.
