My DS has a place for September entry and is I'd say bright in some subjects not all, not really the sportiest kid in the world (usually found in the bottom teams) and dropped playing piano a few years ago as he found it boring. Since that time, we could not bring ourselves to try another instrument. Question I have is, will the parents with current DC think it's worth a shot or is there too much emphasis on sports and music that he will struggle with? Even at an academic level he is not a straight 'A' student, just average I'd say so we were really proud and surprised when we received the offer letter. He also has an offer from a free Grammar school closer to home but I'm sure both are chalk and cheese in comparison. Just not sure if he'll fit in with all the extra compulsory sports. Are matches held on weekdays or also on weekends?

Have you looked round both?
What do you think are the pros and cons for your DS?
Why would you pay ££ for a school where you think/imply he may be at the lower end academically, musically and sport, when the other option is a free academic school closer to home?
