KCS/Hampton/Latymer Upper

Hi there

i was wondering if I could get some words of wisdom...

My DS was a star in the 11+ and has been offered places at KCS, Hampton and Latymer Upper. We are really lucky, but are struggling to decide.
He is at a state primary and is bright, and is close to but not top of his year. He is not especially sporty (plays with enthusiasm NOT ability) and quite nerdy, but reasonably socially able.

I can think of pros and cons for all three but would be keen to see what people think.
Thanks in advance...

Choose the one with the easiest commute. They are all good schools.

Agree. Choose the easiest commute. If I had to choose it would be KCS for the boy you describe.

Thanks Ladies - think I was leaning that way, but good to hear other people's opinions.

He sounds like my son, who is absolutely thriving at LU and has loved it since day 1 when he arrived knowing no-one.

My advice is that distance really matters - and if you can't decide on any other criteria then prioritise the school with the easiest commute.

What did you finally decide madmum6000?

madmum6000 · 26/02/2017 18:58

We went for KCS in the end. When we went to their open afternoon he looked so at home, we thought that it was the right place for him. Fingers crossed that we made the right decision!

There can be no wrong decision really, with such good choices. We are still trying to decide between the schools and the information days haven't made it any easier to choose!

Good luck with it. Don't think you can go too far wrong. Happy choosing!
