year 2 textbooks

Hi

I am following my DD education closely. In the school she gets one HW a week. Usually it is mixture of math and writing. I am realizing math HWs are coming without an example. Sometimes I show her, but I am afraid to teach something different than what is shown in school since I didn't to go to school in UK, and also I am not a teacher. I looked for official government textbooks for teachers so that I can purchase them and understand the teaching methodologies in UK. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything. There is www.scholastic.co.uk/ website which they claim they sell national curriculum textbooks. I am wondering how useful these books are. Has anybody have any experience with these? I also heard good things about www.mathsnoproblem.co.uk/, but again not sure if that is similar to the way that math is taught in UK schools.

We dont have official government textbooks in this country. Very few primary schools use textbooks. Why not ask your child's teacher to recommend something?

British primary schools don't really use textbooks for some reason, and there aren't any official govt ones.

Singapore Math is not British but is good for maths in any country.

I use the Core Knowledge What Your Year XX Child Should Know for general knowledge and the humanities.

Any synthetic phonics-based reading scheme will help you support your daughter's literacy. Try the Spelfabet website for some recommendations.

Galore Park is very good for science, history and English, but is really for Year 3 upwards, so maybe more for next year.
