Just wondered if I entered my dd for this scholarship what would be required of her. Anyone have any examples of the type of question she is likely to face?

Can you elaborate a bit?

It's an hour long exam called an academic essay for a 13+ scholarship for an independent school.
Just wondering what type of question it might be, no past papers available.

They will usually have the choice of 2 or 3 titles or styles eg. write a letter to a friend about the concert you went to recently or write an essay entitled "The Adventure" or even write a newspaper article about the Council's plan to open a Recycling plant nearby.

They are fairly wide but easy to think up the tale on the spot offering the student a choice that they feel most comfortable with. Generally they are looking at the style, the vocabulary used and the use of SPAG that they would expect at that level.

Thanks all the best, that's helpful.
