Hi all. We are new to the area and hoping we can get some advice on these secondary schools.

Comparing Nower Hill and Pinner High, which would parents rather recommend?

Any opinions would be appreciated - including from parents with kids at either school.

Thanks Smile
Anita

I don't have children at either school, but we live in the area and will be looking at PH as a possibility for our youngest ( Y4 boy).
Nower Hill is a well established, excellent school where kids do very well. The downside is the site is very crowded as it was originally intended for Yrs 8-11, and now accommodates years 7-13. I think it's 12 form entry. Lots of two storied buildings might be a consideration if you have a child with mobility problems ( as we do)
The catchment area has been quite small in the past but if you live between NH and PH, you probably has a good chance of getting in.
Pinner High is a new school and only has year 7 on site atm ( Plus some of Avanti High for now) There is more space and it's only a 6 form entry. It's a new school in an older building but the facilities are very good and there are less stairs.
The school is being managed by a consortium of outstanding and good Harrow high schools so it's got every chance of being an excellent school, especially since the area is populated by families who invest in their children's future.
From what I've seen at our primary school( next door to PH) the catchment area for next year's intake will be a lot smaller than this years.
There are kids coming from as far away as Hatch End this year , but I don't think that will continue.
I think PH is the nicer environment and has less pupils but it's not proven yet, so there is some risk.
Visit both schools and see what you think.
