Keeping school workbooks. Should one?

I never know what to do about this. DCs come home laden down with all their school folders and workbooks by subject and I am never sure if they should be kept. Because sweet? For revision? For instance, DS is now in Y8 so covering proper topics
rather than just potato prints.

This Q merges into what to do with artistic creations….. My mother always looks at me with puppy eyes if I fail to hold on to every special creation made of foil and loo rolls, but if I was to keep the lot I'd need to hire industrial storage. DH constantly moans that the house is a tip and we should purge stuff. I end up caught in the middle thinking whatever I do is wrong.

I'm in the same situation with school books although mine are still primary age. Once I've flicked through I think it's fair tk say I never will again so s there any point in keeping them?
Loo roll creations though - bin 99% of tjem (after a respectful length of time admiring them and displaying them) Any guilt is more than offset by the joy of the lovely tidy space where they were.

Take photos of "artistic" creations. You could even make a photo book at some point if you feel it's pointless as the photos would never get printed out. I keep DD's art books but not much else

Good idea to keep art books, maybe. Could be a good compromise. I can easily find myself being unable to chuck out rather sweet laminated bits of 'creative writing' etc. Slippery slope.

I went through DD's exercise books from last year and have kept the main books for that year only and chucked the ones from the previous year bar the Art book. What a joy to get rid off all those extra sheets of paper too.

I guess I must be quite odd then, as I haven't got rid off any of my DD's (only child) primary school workbooks.

Funnily enough, my DD told me yesterday that she found this week's year 7 (comp) assigned history homework (Ancient Egypt) in her Year 4 history workbook (independent school).

Pick your favourites and take a photo (whether art work or writing). Amass photos and create a photo book eventually. I am very proud of dds various creations, but I'm not keeping them
