Faith admission criteria

Our local Catholic school has just revised its admission criteria for 2017-18 - 3 years regular mass attendance (previously 2), baptism dates asked for but not first holy communion.

I've been a regular attended for 2 and a bit years. Damn.

No feeder schools, choir/music places or any other route.

Any thoughts?

Just wanted to thank you all for input. The OSA has upheld the complaint on all the points I made as well as a bunch of others.

Well done.

As others have said there is a clear pathway for consultation to take place around changes to admission criteria and that it is for the school as their own admission authority to organise it.
For 2017-18 admissions that consultation must have been consulted by January 2016. Whilst they should have, in best practice, have consulted widely, I think the reality is that as long as the school can show the consultation was put on the website and to the Diocese then they will get away with that. But it is the dates that are much more important.
Clearly if they have just come out with this now for 2017-18 it is very badly flawed and needs to be bought to the attention of the Adjudicator. There is no possibility that actually they are consulting for 2018-19 and just put the wrong date on the top of it?

Nope.

My main beef was that they hadn't done any kind of external consultation before publishing revised arrangements in Sept 2016. They admitted this to the OSA.
