Really upset child

A bit of an odd one but here goes. I was driving my kids to school today and whilst I was waiting at the lights around the corner from our home I saw a child who was clearly really upset and crying. I found a place to pull over and hopped out to see if I could help. He said that he was really upset about going to school, his eyes were puffy and tears were still coming. I offered him a lift as I drop my daughter near to the school attends but understandably and probably very sensibly he declined. Do you think that I should let the school know or should I just mind my own business? I don't want to be a busy body but it seemed so sad.

Yes, I would. If you can describe him. They won't necessarily be able to work out who it was but it might be the missing part of a jigsaw.
Flowers nice of you to stop.

Oh bless him Sad I completely agree with apocalypse, it was lovely of you to stop and I would give the school a quick call. Poor kid.

Thanks for the shove Apocolypse. I gave them a buzz. They were really responsive and took a description to pass around the staff room. I'm sure it was something and nothing but poor lad.
