DS's sports coach /porn on twitter - AIBU?

DS (14) had 2 mates round and I was aware of 'something' going on, as they were clustered round his ipad, but quickly shut it down when I walked past.
My 'sixth sense' just made me curious, so I interrogated asked him about it later on his own, and he admitted that they'd been looking at some of their teacher's twitter accounts.
Their sports/rugby coach identifies himself as 'teacher at XYZ school' and his profile pic is wearing school logo sports kit. He does say 'all views my own'. His own posts are mostly of the school teams he coaches / match results and retweets of sporting stuff.
However, when you click on who he 'follows' a lot of it is 18+ adult/porn accounts. So within two clicks off his profile it was all pretty hardcore anal/oral videos and stuff.
My son and his friends had been checking who he followed, and this is what they had found.

I know this stuff exists, and I know 14 year-olds can easily find it if they want to, but AIBU in thinking that a teacher, and 'role-model' for some of the boys, should keep this off his very public twitter account, where he is being seen to represent the school?

I'd like to 'bring it to the attention' of the Head, but I can't think how to do it without sounding such a prude....

Absolutely reports it to the school. It's not acceptable. Especially if he mentions the school, wears school uniform etc,

You are not a prude. Just report it in a matter of fact. You are completely within your right. Preventing young teenagers from seeing hard core porn is not being prude it's being a sensible, caring and involved parent

Sound like a prude and tell the head teacher. While I know that teachers are entitled to a private life, when does that include sharing publicly an enjoyment of anal sex? Or even boring sex.

I like a bit of kinky sex and was a teacher but there is no way i would ever ever link the 2. As a teacher you know that. I would definitely tell the school, mayve email with a link to his Twitter.

School logo & links to school teams on same account is terribly bad form.
Contact the school.

are you sure that he has followed them or that they have followed him. On Twitter you can get followed by some really odd people.

If he has followed them and is a member of staff at the school then it's worth raising, but if he hasn't actually posted anything of a dodgy nature then it's just a case of him having poor judgement.

Definitely check what SideEye said. You can get followed by anyone on Twitter and Pinterest too (not sure about others).

sorry just retread OP and it says you've clicked on who he follows rather than his followers. Poor judgement on his part when wearing something that links him to the school and posting about school stuff too.

If it is his personal account, he shouldn't be posting about school at all really.

I don't know the ins and outs of twitter as i don't have an account, but is it possible that a) he doesn't realise that who he follows is visible to others or b) that someone has hacked his account and followed the sites as a prank?

At no point should teenagers know their teachers are into hard core porn.

Pumpkin he probably hasn't thought about who he follows being visible, though he ought to know it is. The second point is possible, but unlikely because you'd see the stuff coming up on your page every time you used Twitter, so he'd know someone had hacked him and would be able to unfollow and block the porn. He's been stupid and I'd tell the head, who can raise it with him.

I would report it, it could be something hes done or for another reason but either way needs investigating. I say other reasons as i have twitter and it was hacked in Aug. They changed my profile picture to a topless female she looked alot like me also but i certainly dont have her body! They followed loads of accounts and loads of people followed me plus tweet and retweeted lots of things I wouldn't dream of!!

I've changed what I could but I contacted twitter to fix it and it's been a month and they have done nothing, they are just not interested. I can't undo anymore! Its honestly not that simple my partner works in IT he can't fix it either need twitter to respond or close my account. There was a data leak and loads of information got stolen and I clearly failed to change my password when it was announced.

I was oncr hacked on twitter, and it followed lots of dodgy accounts which I didnt know about as I dont use twitter all that often.

Its highly unlikely a teacher would have these things so easily found by pupils, so whilst I would still speak to the head I would assume he has possibly been hacked and maybe use that as an icebreaker when bringing it up HTs attention?
