When and what do your teenagers eat after school?

This year DS (year 10) will get home at about 5.30, having done at least an hour of sport at lunchtime and/or after school. DH and I get in at around 6.30 and aim to eat supper at 7/7.30.

DS needs to eat something when he gets in, but what? Cereal? Pot noodle? Portion of previous day's supper to heat in microwave? It has to be relatively easy to prepare and needs to boost his energy so that he can get at least one homework done before supper. No food means he slumps exhaustedly on the sofa until we get in and then doesn't start his homework until 8, which is not productive.

All suggestions very welcome!

Cereal, instant noodles, frozen parathas, bread etc, leftovers. I also buy frozen ready meals when they're discounted and try to keep a couple in the freezer. Ds's usual choice though is nachos - value tortilla chips, salsa, ready-grated cheese, under the grill for a couple of minutes.

Everything. All the time.

the fridge......
but seriosly DS eats at least 3 portions of fruit, some cheese and crackers and usually a peanut butter sandwich (he has grown 6 inches in 3 months)some olives and if still hungry cake (but he has not got a sweet tooth)

I leave a list of what he can eat and what is off limits!

DDs have a piece of toast with or without spread/jam ,a piece of fruit and water, sometimes a piece of cake. DD1 has finished growing probably aged 15, others are just starting to accellerate so I may need a bigger fridge!

They have cooked breakfast, early packed lunch and are home by 4usually. We eat between 6 and 6.30 and they cannot get through til then and stay liveable with/productive without some food.

Honestly that would be too late for my teens.... I have three and they all do sport. They eat when they crash through the door and eat again (dinner) by six. The two younger would probably graze then until bed.

At that age ds used to hoover up those packs of noodles - very cheap and filling and quick to make.
