Hi, having worked as a Careers Adviser in High Schools for 21 years now I would just like to say that THE most important thing for Year 11's is knowing that whatever their results in August turn out to be, the fact that they have tried their best is the most important thing. Exams test memory and are a very narrow assessment of a young person's 'success' or predictor of the future. As someone who went to Uni in my 30's I am living proof of that :) As long as they know you love them that will take a HUGE weight off their shoulders. Praise the effort not the results*

(frown)
By no measure or slightest interpretation did my yr11 DS try his best in GCSE exams.
I suppose It's a nice sentiment for those to whom it applies.

Nor did I in mine I have to say - far more interesting things to do at the time! You can't put an old head on young shoulders for sure.
