Maths question help please

Ds has to create a pie chart as a word document.We have 10 different percentages to form the pie. There is little variation in the numbers which are expressed as a percentage.e.g. 67,77,68,68,72 etc. There is only a difference of 12 between the highest and lowest numbers. When these are put into the pie chart maker on word the 10 pie sections are appearing as the same number. The ten sections vary between 9 to 11, so 67 and 69 both have a 10 percentage on the pie chart, is this correct? Thanks for any help.

I've not used pie chart maker in word (I was going to suggest use excel and import). Can you change it so it shows to 1 decimal place?

Seems a slightly weird thing to have to do really.

are you sure that you are meant to put all the % values into one pie chart? that would be very odd because it would add up to more than 100%.

Maybe you are meant to make 10 different pie charts, one showing 65% red (25% blue) and the next showing 63%red (27% blue) etc.

Either way, I'd make them in Excel and then copy - paste into Word. Do the Paste special option and paste as an Image to be sure Word doesn't mess it up.

You can just copy all the numbers into a column in Excel, select them and click on Insert -> Pie and choose your chart. You then right click on the pie and add data labels. Once you see the numbers on the pie, you right click again and click on format data labels and choose percentage there and uncheck "values". You click on number in the same menu and choose percentage with 2 decimals. You should see the actual percentages with 2 decimals on your pie

A pie chart shows, in a picture, what proportion of the whole (100%) each item represents. You can't show 67,77,68,68,72 etc, on a pie chart because the total would be more than 100. The only way if could be is if each number was expressed as a percentage of the sum total of all the numbers, so 67/456, for example, which would be 14.69%.
