Can anyone give any opinions on this school?

Hi!

I have heard really bad things about this school. It used to be quite a decent community school, but the new headteacher is very authoritarian, there is massive staff turnover and behavior has gone down the drain. To be honest I feel sorry for the staff and students there. My daughter left two years ago now and the families I know who still have kids there say the staff are miserable and the leadership of the school treat staff and students like crap. Such a shame!

Thanks for the information. We aren't taking the place there as this is just what I was worried about. It is a shame as they have the likes of Holland Park to compete with and I would have thought this would be a motivator. Shame like you say.

So OP, you would make a decision about your child's education based on a single opinion by a complete stranger on MM?
I don't know anything about the school in question but one assumes if you have an offer it was one of your choices, and it begs the question "why" if you think it's so bad...
Or if on the other hand you're one of the people offered a school you didn't have as a choice then it would make sense to at least visit the school, read the latest OFSTED and make an informed decision. If you don't have an alternative lined up (HE or independent offer) it is a very high stakes strategy to decline your only offer at this stage.

TheLittleMe - Of course I didn't base a decision on one persons comments! I've seen the school and it was only on the list because we were advised to put it down rather than get allocated a school somewhere else. I just wanted opinions, quite reasonable I assumed.
