SPS or CLS boys?

At 13+. DS has offers for these (has to sit CE) and we need to decide.

He, like us, waver between the two. Travel won't be a deal breaker (straight tube trip for one, school bus close by for other).

Fees will be vastly different (scholarship at CLS) but we don't want to decide purely on cost.

Has anyone got boys at either, and can let me know about the school, workloads, social aspects, culture, staff, etc?

To help decide last year we checked the leavers videos on you tube and CLS won easily, the 2010 "we have to leave" one made us go for CLS all the way. We don't regret it one bit. We checked Latymer Upper and SPS also. It gives a feel for the day to day atmosphere of each schools.

Typically, it's 2 weeks after interview.

Are you applying for both SP 11+ and 13+ entries or just 13+? when was your interview date?

What pupils in a school video did in 2010 is irrelevant to someone who won't be starting until 2019. Base it on what you think now, not a generation ago' impression.

A couple of boys I know of have had some problems integrating at 13 at CLSB. Their parents are dissapointed with the support they have received.

Given the change in head, I also wouldn't out too much weight in old YouTube videos.

My DS went to St Paul's, 2009-2014, and has turned out much better than any Etonian family friend. He is now a very well-rounded individual, with simply exemplary quantities of respect for the female sex as well as the highly oppressed minorities (not that there are any at SPS). He once even told his au pair that she didn't have to do the ironing just because she is a woman, although she is paid quite enough to do so! ROFL! This is the kind of respectable gentleman that SPS produces - never been prouder of my DS!
