maths tutor

My son is currently year 9 and is really lacking in confidence in maths. I feel a tutor once a week would boost his confidence and help him make progress. Where do I start trying to find someone who is up to date on new curriculum etc? When you look online there are loads of agencies but I have no idea where to start. Many thanks in advance .

I would ask his maths teacher - do they know someone locally?? They will know lots of math teachers in the vicinity.

I would look on gumtree for a qualified teacher (if you can afford it). lots of agencies charge enough money but don't necessarily send you someone who knows the curriculum or is even a teacher.
