One of my daughters has just started high school and is doing quite well, and amazing at music and drama which she loves. However she is finding it hard to make friends. Has anyone else been through this experience.

Do you mean she's just moved schools mid-year, or that she went there and started with all the other Yr7s in September?

If so, did she not move up with others from her Primary ?

HOw has she got on with people when she's been at Primary school - did she have friends there?

it can take time, be patient.
better that then to run head first into a group of friends then have to "break up" with them when she realises they're not actually her type after all.

that's what i'm telling myself anyway!

Could it be she is finding it hard to find girls with similar interests?

It looks from your other thread that maybe she has little time to do school based clubs, or general socialisation. If that is the case that can impact of friendship development.

Does she have time to get involved with school show or orchestra? If so she might meet more like-minded people there.
