Secondary teachers - dilemma?

We always give our paperboy/girl £5 at Christmas. But our paperboy is now one of the lads from the school where I work, and I feel a bit uncomfortable about the idea of giving him money ... But I also feel uncomfortable with the idea of not tipping him.

What do you reckon?

Sorry, I'm not a teacher, but I'd tip him. Won't he think that you're mean if you don't?

why would you feel uncomfortable? id tip him

I tipped my paper boy whom I also taught. Paper rounds are crap jobs and he was a really nice lad.

In fact come to think of it, I didn't tip him, I bought him a massive box of sweets, gave them to him in the lesson, and told the rest of the class why.

The sweets lasted about 5 seconds though....

Thanks, that's helpful.
