Can school talk to ex about dd when he doesn't have parental responsibility

Number of problems at school -school want to hold a multi agency meeting to agree an action plan

They've said they are inviting ex

They know he doesn't have contact or parental responsibility -can they do that?

Possibly, I think it depends on your situation. I know of at least two children in the secondary school I work in who do not have contact with their father, but he is entitled to contact the school with queries regarding how they're getting on and get copies of the reports and the like.

The Education Act 1996 gives certain rights to parents regardless of whether or not they have parental responsibility. Unless there is a court order specifically prohibiting your ex from having involvement in your child's education the school is acting correctly.
