How do A level Art and BTEC differ?

Starting to think about future options and trying to inform myself about potential advantages or disadvantages before visiting the various colleges. Would the content be similar, and it is just the process of assessment that is different?

Depends on the BTEC! The BTEC extended diploma is the equivalent of there A levels so that would be all the student was doing, so only for kids that are definite about going to art college.

60 credit BTEC diploma only equivalent to 1 A level though, so similar workload.

Don't know about assessment sorry but assume both require a pretty substantial portfolio.

Thanks Titchy, BTECs are new to me, so I need to get up to speed.
