Has anyone managed to get a place after being on the headmaster's waiting list? thanks

My son started at St John's in September, 4th form.

He was on the waiting list after the pre- test. He was offered a place within a few months.

Seems ages ago!

We are on the waiting list for 2017 - does anyone know when the lists might begin to move??

We have just heard we are on the waiting list for September 2018 imelda3. Our current head told me that there is a lot of movement on the St John's list, as it will be a second choice for lots of parents who also applied to RGS, Epsom College, etc. So lots of people who get offers end up not accepting them. Also, there will be people who have accepted the offer but are taking the 12+ at the same time for other schools.

So no guarantees but I think there is room for hope!

Thanks very much TuttiFrutti. Their website says that deposits are non-refundable within 20 months of start date so I was hoping that the list might start to move nowish. Am really not very good at waiting I have decided!
