Reports - what do you want to know?

Morning all
I am a teacher and my school are rethinking how we report to parents. At the moment three grades are given per subject every half term - one for attainment, and one for effort for homework and class work.

So, as parents, what would you want to know (barring comments - written reports are done at the end of every year as usual)

Any suggestions very gratefully received!

I get these grades on my DS every term. Current attainment, end of year target, whether DS is on track to meet end of year target, end of KS3 target, GCSE target, learning behaviour and homework.

Then once a year the full report with comments. I feel these grades give me a pretty good idea how my child is doing and enough info to go to a teacher if I have any concerns.

Ps, I have no desire to know how the rest of his class is doing. I just want to now if he is making progress every term/year and if this is good progress. So report also explains in the blurb what national average progress is and what school expected progress is.
