Hi! Can anyone tell me who lives or has lived in Pinner what are the best secondary schools? Private, and state schools. Are there any really good mixed girls/boys state schools? This can include close to Pinner too. Thanks, Kate

I grew up in Pinner and Nower Hill High School was then, and still is I believe, a very good state secondary. Don't know about private, I actually went to a private school but not in or particularly near Pinner.

Secondary schools are changing around Pinner. There's Nower Hill, Avanti House (moving to Stanmore in 2017), Pinner High (opening in 2016) and Hatch End with others further away in Harrow and neighbouring Hillingdon.

If you haven't already seen it, Harrow council's secondary school guide for 2016/17 is here:

Ofsted reports can be found here:

An overview/map of London state/private secondary schools (including those in Harrow and Hillingdon) can be found here:

The only mixed private secondary school nearby is Regent College. Its Ofsted school report in May 2014 found it to be "inadequate" in many ways.

Better private secondary schools nearby are going to be either boys only (in Harrow) or girls only (in Northwood)
