Hi my daughter started year 7 at the new University of Birmingham school from the 10th. She is very much loving the secondary school and the whole experience do far. Would like to hear from other parents who's children has also started, their expectations etc.

I haven't but I've just had a google and it looks fantastic. Would definitely consider sending DC there!

And no Mickey Mouse subjects either - brilliant. I foresee the school becoming in very high demand over the next few years!

The demand for the school has been pronominal. My DD is loving it so far,she actually said it doesn't feel like a school. Enrichment and character education is at the heart of the curriculum. They choose from a range of extra activities e.g. Media club, sports club, science club, nature club. And have a whole Wednesday afternoon for enrichment, and 2 hours on Monday and Friday, thus the school finished 4.30. DD is tired but I'm hoping she'll get use to it. Most of all, the head teacher Mr Roden ex King Edward VI camp grammar (head hunted) by school is brilliant making sure the kids and school remain having close links to the actual Uni. Open days for 2016 intake takes place 2nd, 7th October.

Not to mention have much of a lovely chap he is. Very popular with the pupils so far, and I'm quite impressed with him as well.
