Hi we've just moved from abroad and my son has been offered a space at MArlborough Science Academy in St.Albans. i know nothing about this school and he will be starting 3 weeks after everyone else. Does anyone have any info on the school and any advice for late in-year starters!
Thanks

Hi,

I do have a friend who has one child in Marlborough and another in Parmiters (a partially selective school) and she says that hands down Marlborough is a better school environment. She says that her son is given opportunities to really shine and is getting high grades but that her very academic son in Parmiters is not treated so well and not given many opportunities. She was even thinking of moving the son from Parmiters to Marlborough.

I just went to the open day and it seemed like a very nice school with motivated teachers and kids. So you shouldn't worry too much.

Compared to other places in the UK, any school in St. Albans is good.
