IGCSE English Results from Summer 2015

Hi We are still waiting for our daughters IGCSE English examination result. The school have been pretty useless with communication, not even returning our call so I called back and got a'well we don't know when they'll be received'. Not great as waiting for this result for college course. Any suggestions who we could contact? (Have tried Ofsted & Dept Education - but no reply). Examination board won't help due to data protection :(

I don't understand what can be going on - my ds got all his IGCSE results on GCSE results day - 13th August. What reason have they given you for this not being available??

Why were they not received on results day?

Did the entire cohort get sent back for a remark?

The school just gave my daughter a piece of paper on results day saying that there was a delay in supplying the result for this particular exam and that the result would follow in the post. I went to the school but by this time the staff were all off and I was told to go back today. I duly went to ask if they could contact the examination board and was told that the Head of English would phone me back by 4pm. So I waited but no call came so I phoned the school to be told that the Head of English wasn't available but that they could confirm that there was a delay with the examination board. When asked which examination board they used was told either AQA or Edexcel. Have emailed Ofsted & Dept of Education but no reply received.

That's pretty crap.

DS got his Edexcel iGCSE result with the rest of his results. The problem must be something to do with your school.

Not got a very good feeling about this, I thought it may be more widespread but looks like SoupDragon you are right.

Do you know if any of your DD's cohort have received their results? If not, I would've thought the school would be bending over backwards to help.

Agree results should have been together. Sounds like there may be an issue between the school and exam board - coursework moderation or wholesale remark perhaps.

Can you email the school, head of English, copying in the Head, demanding an explanation and an ETA of results?

Even if there is a delay with the results (I would suspect a remark, but I thought a signature needed to be given to get this) the lack of info is completely unacceptable, especially given the need for results for college.

Have sent email to school head requesting an update. Be interesting to see what he does. It was the whole class so I can't be the only parent chasing.
