Follow on thread from the GCSE exams and proms thread. For hand holding and recommendations of wine/chocolate/biscuits to get through the post results stuff.

Just about set here. DD is 'quietly confident but with a few nerves.' I just asked her what she wants me to do when we get to school tomorrow (school opens at 8.45am) and she wants me to go into school with her. I pointed out to her that, as they have to collect them from the not-very-large library and we'll have DDs 2 and 3 with us, it might be an idea to wait and see how many other children/parents are there rather than us all add to the numbers of people and if it's busy, we'll wait somewhere close by. Then after we know the results, I've got to ring DH and text my parents to tell them.

I hope you all (children and parents) have a good nights sleep and hope everything turns out well tomorrow.

QOD · 19/08/2015 21:50

MY dd is doing ncs too juggling but they don't have to start until 1 so they can compose themselves!

IrianofWay · 19/08/2015 21:52

DD isn't even here. She's spending the night with her best friend who got so stressed during the GCSEs that she was vomiting and fainting all over the place. Joy ....

TheCheeseAlarm · 19/08/2015 21:55

10am for us tomorrow. Nerves are beginning to set in with DS1 too, which is a first.

I have booked a table at his favourite restaurant for tomorrow evening. We shall celebrate (and I shall drink gin) whatever the outcome.

Another week, another set of results. Good luck for tomorrow everyone.

Ripeningapples · 19/08/2015 22:16

Aaw. DH has just given her a lovely little card telling her how much he loves her! And he brought me home some Oliver Bonas hand wash for the downstairs bog.

HSMMaCM · 19/08/2015 22:17

Ok ... DD is now considering maths A level, instead of her biology clash. She's dithering though and is reading through the sixth form booklet again.

She wants to be at school at 1045 and wants to bring the envelope to the car for me to open, because all her friends will have 50 A*s apparently. She may of course get carried away and open it.

I am not to tell anyone any of her results, which I'm fine about. She is going to an after results 'gathering' where no one is allowed to discuss results.

She's had a row with DH tonight.

OddBoots · 19/08/2015 22:23

Oh goodness, sounds like it has been a stressful week all round HSMMaCM. If she doesn't want to talk to anyone at school about her results and what courses to choose next year the exam results hotline is open with a freephone number (0808 100 8000) tomorrow - they are good at chatting through the options.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 19/08/2015 23:32

No NCS for DD tomorrow QOD - a day off for results day
They've mostly been planning activities for next week anyway - there's only so much planning you can do
But I'm hoping the idea of getting into school for around 9 won't feel completely alien to her

Horsemad · 20/08/2015 00:08

DS has been checking grade boundaries; he's not nervous, he just said he can't change anything now. Wish I had that approach, I always over think things Hmm

Good Luck again to all! Will check in in about 10hrs time... Wink

LineyRunner · 20/08/2015 00:21

Good luck all.

I am!
Am in China and my son took 2 iGCSEs (year 10) and we had the results on 11th August. He got A and A*.
Have relatives waiting for results today.
Good luck to everyone!

SugarPlumTree · 20/08/2015 06:53

Juggling in your shoes I would be clattering round the house loudly !

Haven't slept particularly well, very glad the wait is nearly over.

Good luck everyone

TranquilityofSolitude · 20/08/2015 06:55

I am too! Sorry - was struggling to negotiate the new passwords etc.

Congratulations to your son, ShanghaiDiva.

Good luck to everyone else :)

Helenluvsrob · 20/08/2015 06:58

Right at work now. Nervous doesn't cut it! Got to wait till I think 10am! Head down and ignore I think

ShanghaiDiva · 20/08/2015 07:01

Thanks Solitude - he was certainly overjoyed that he will never have to write a piece of creative writing ever again!
