How likely is it that my son will get a school place in a private school in Y9 or Y10 coming from abroad?

If we leave London and he leaves his private secondary school behind.

If we realize that leaving was a mistake? Is there any chance he will get a place without having sat 13+ ?

I've seen some of your previous threads quint. I worry that in considering this major move you're already looking for a fall back to return at what would not be an ideal time for another move for DS1, GCSEs would be looming.

DC are always more relaxed in the summer, off school, wherever they are.

I think you might be overstating your physical health issues and their potential impact on your long term health as a way to justify the move. Is your mental health also a factor?

Will your DH really join you in a year? Recall you also had relationship problems and that he is likely to find it very hard to find good work in Norway.

I imagine this is completely out of date, but I went to a selective London day school and children joined in any year if there was a space to fill - we always had year end exams - maybe they took those?

I think a bigger problem would be slotting into any school just before exam courses start - I don't think it would be impossible, but might be tricky if you had followed a completely different curriculum. Also the school wouldn't know your child so wouldn't be able to advise on subject choice.
