My son is just coming to the end of year 9. I have just receive his report and I have know idea what these levels mean. How do the relate to GCSE levels.

On this thread, PastSellByDate posted these two interesting links which I think help us to understand.

One has a flight path (scroll down) which shows the number level's expected progress to years 10 and 11.

The other one is the new grading structure.
I wonder if the number levels in the second link are the same levels as the students are graded in now (6c, 7a etc.)?

Look like the old NC levels to me. Our school is still using them for some subjects this year too, before breaking out the all new mark scheme next year.
