Hello,

I live in East London and would really appreciate it if anyone could suggest mainstream secondary schools in North and East London with really strong SEN departments.

My son is 12 and has suffered intermittent hearing loss due to glue ear, as a result he has a some learning difficulties. I am trying to find a school that will support him so he can progress.

I don't want to rely OFSTED reports, instead I am keen to find a school that someone can recommend based on their child (who has a special education need) having received strong and consistent support.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Where do you live sprout and does he have a Statement? If he doesn't then it's harder to get a place at a chosen school as they mostly just go on who lives closest (I'm sure you know that!) If he's 12 already sounds like he's already at secondary?

I live in Walthamstow. He's not statemented, but at this stage I would just like to know of schools that people can recommend and take it from there.

Mossbourne always comes up as a good SEN choice (I work in SEN primary in the area).

Mossbourne's a bit of a marmite choice school. PM me for details if you want, Sprout.
