Hi there does anyone know about laundry at boarding school? My daughter is going to Gordons in West End and I have visions of piles of the stuff at the weekend ?

DD1 brings home anything that can't be washed in a hot wash, and we do a quick wash for her at the weekend (she's a weekly boarder). Until this year, girls in grade 10 were supposed to do their own washing, while the boys still got theirs done for them. Shock DD1 and her friends campaigned against this, and now they all get their washing done for them, but all do their own from 11th grade.

My DD is a day girl at a boarding school and she's quite adept at chucking in her games kit/smasuals (smart casuals) into the machines there and dealing with it herself. I very rarely see it in my washing at home! Yes, I have trained her well!!
Her school like the kids to take care of their own in the house laundries to get them trained for uni! She's 14 so she'll be super organised in 4 years time!!

DS is a weekly border, we collect him every Sat after school. School do all the laundry, school uniform and casual, even blazers. We don't have any at all :-) I was a bit surprised as when I was a border I used to bring it home for my mum. Not complaining tho am delighted.
