Does your Y7 child actually know how to revise?

Have their school helped them with methods etc?

DS1 didn't seem to have a clue and said school hadn't made any suggestions. i appreciate they are at the bottom of the school but surely the earlier they learn how to remember the better.

I think they did have quite a lot of guidance in form time even in year 7

My youngest is now in Yr8, but, yes, the school taught them ideas or suggestions of things they could do, when they were in Yr7.
In my dds' school, they also give them some revision time in school, while the Yr8s do their exams, when they have to sit in silence and study / revise on their own for the duration of the Yr8 exam (then swap, so the Yr8s do the same for Yr7 exams). I like it - it gets them into the idea of revising at a younger age.

I keep asking but never get a proper reply. I hope they do because he is clueless.
