So I have finally written up my draft letter for appealing an in year application for a yr 8 please at an over subscribed school.

My question is whether if it is worth appealing now or waiting to sept as I know the appeals panel will be very busy with other appeals around this time from all hose parents who's children did not get their preferred choices for yr 7. Where as September may be a little quieter

All though I'm appealing on a different year group to those will this have an affect on me appealing now or not.

My case is not very strong and the schools arguement is that the school is full

The school's argument for any appeal is always that the school is full. Don't worry about that.

They may well use a different appeal panel for your Y8 appeal rather than the one hearing Y7 appeals. Even if they don't, one more appeal won't make any difference. If you appeal now you may get a place for September. If you delay you may not be able to move your child until after Christmas even if you win your appeal. So my advice would be to appeal now.

By the way, hearings for Y7 appeals are already under way. If you apply now Y7 appeals will be out of the way before your appeal is heard.
