Yes reading education blogs is always a dangerous thing - but with DD1 (Y7) heading for her first parent/ teacher meeting and just receiving her school report (with targets/ performance & colour coding to let us know if she's below/ at/ above her target) I started to wonder what this might mean come GCSE...

Blogs read:

Leading Learner: leadinglearner.me/2013/10/02/targets-learning-gaps-and-flight-paths/ & leadinglearner.me/2013/10/06/changing-flight-paths-and-interventions/

Chris Hildrew: chrishildrew.wordpress.com/2014/04/15/tracking-progress-over-time-flight-paths-and-matrices/

I've no idea whether our state comprehensive secondary school uses this scheme or not - but thought it was a very interesting way of demonstrating what needs to be achieved by a child year on year to end up with a certain outcome and liked that both were studiously trying to point out that progress isn't linear.

As a newbie to things secondary I thought this was helpful.
