Outward bound type holiday for 13 year old

My son went to Rua Fiola last year and loved it but it's shut down now.

He loves the outdoors, wildlife and history.

It needs to be late August. We're in Scotland but can travel.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Both my DS's did this sort of thing with the Outward Bound Trust. DS1 whose not into this sort of thing went to their Lake District centre and had a time of his life, DS2 whos significantly more adventurous went to Wales and felt it was rather tame, the teacher who took them on both occassions agreed that the Lakes was much better. They were both prep age at the time but they ran much more advanced course for older children/young adults.

My son loved ATE (Active Training and Education) holidays, and 13 isn't young in their terms [they start at age 6]. Google ATE holidays.

Not sure where you are in Scotland, but if you can get him to Newcastle, they'll meet him and travel on to the destination with a group of kids.

Do be aware of the age groups on this type of holidays. Some might say the age range is 11- 13 but when you look closer there are very few 13 year olds. So I would suggest asking when you book.
PGL do holidays in France for teenagers which look fun too.

There were 12 ish when they went but as I said above they did courses specifically aimed at older children.

PGL is great and takes kids from junior school age. They often have discounts like 2 for 1 (get together with a friend?)

Dalguise in perthshire is pretty good - it's PGL and take all ages.
