Year 10 Core Science GCSE - how much revision is going on?

I've got half an eye on the Year 11 support thread and know that I'll be me this time next year. In the meantime, we have Year 10 Core Science GCSE coming up in July. Recent Mocks were a wake up call in terms of time management (not enough of it to cover everything). How much revision is your Year 10 Core Science darling doing? Mine is reluctant to do much which is very frustrating as he doesn't have the other exams to revise for! I am not looking forward to next year!

Not core science, but yr10 DS has statistics & a BTEC to revise for (June exams).
He says he's done a bit of revision. I reckon he's done a big fat Zero.

Yes mine is certainly choosing an interesting path!

Sadly none - she hasn't got the results of the mocks yet which I think is very bad - if she had she may have realised she needed to revise!

Just re-read and July should read June. Mock results are due back next week for DS.

You are certain it's June not May aren't you?
(for info, Edexcel core science is May.)

Can you download a past paper for each exam and ask/tell him to do it?
If he aces it you know he's OK, if not it might buck him up.

My dds are may I believe - just wish they had the mock results before the holiday like the other school in our town then she may have knuckled down a bit!

He's doing AQA which is beginning of June. Well done the DS that is doing an hour a day! I think (hope) DS is in A/B territory. He got high Bs in his ISAs. So, needs to revise to do the best he can. This could be one of his best chances of an A.

dd doing OCR Core Science - all exams are in May. School have given out revision timetable and put resources on their website. They are starting revision lessons at school this week.

Depends on the dc, and how well taught they've been / the pace they've moved at throughout the last 4 years.

I saw no sign of dd doing any revision at home last year, and she got an A (.... she ought to have got an A*, and I hoped it might have sunk in that she could do better if she'd put some effort in, but sadly not.)

I know my niece did a LOT of work for hers - she's always been a worrier, and dd is so laid back, she's horizontal.
