Hertfordshire Secondary School Appeal - Timescales

Hi I wonder if anyone out there can offer advice: In Hertfordshire the deadline for which Secondary Transfer appeal form must be received by the appeals team is April 2nd. This is to be done online, the box provided states "Please provide the grounds for your appeal" Can anyone tell me if I have to put forward me whole case at this point in this box (it takes up to 5000 words!). I thought I just had to outline our key reasons for appealing but other parents I have spoken to have implied that I need to submit my whole case forward by the 2nd April. Thank you in advance for any guidance......

Many thanks Tiggytape this was my understanding so really appreciate the confirmation. We have written up the core of our appeal but could do with a week or so to fine tune it and collect the rest of our evidence. Thanks again really appreciate your response. Think we're finding this appeals process a lonely place, the mumsnet forum has proved a valuable source of information and support.

The deadline set by the council is simply a date for their convenience, which means they have to set an appeal date within the required maximum of 40 schools days.
All appeals notified to the council by this date will definitely be heard within the 40 school days but any that are only initially notified to the council after the deadline date of April 2nd, may not necessarily be heard at the same time (though Councils usually will try their best to get the appeals all heard together)
