How many uni Open Days did your DC do? Did you go with them?

And what actually happens?! I mean, is it just a general talk to all, or department/subject specific, include tour of the uni and accommodation?

Any info gratefully received!

Hi Leeds2. I took DD1 to 1 at the end of year 11 so she had an idea of what university was and what an open day was. We did a couple of different talks as she wasn't sure what degree she wanted to do. In year 12 she had decided what she wanted to do so selected open days that were relevant and booked on the appropriate subject talks. I think she did 7. 2 on the train on her own and 4/5 that I went to - and also dragged DD2 along to 3 of those. Some students go on their own, some take parents.
DD2 is currently in year 12 and has started booking some that she wants to look at - she is more difficult as she hasn't made up her mind what degree she wants to do.

Also look at the year 13 threads on here as they have provided lots of valuable advice/hints.

Lucky that you have taken DD2 early!!

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it, and that I should have done something earlier.
