Fettes college sixth form boarding?

My husband and I have recently been considering moving to Scotland and need to find a good sixth form for our daughter.

I can't find many threads on Fettes, but really I'm just wondering about the general ethos of the school and the sixth form boarding experience. We didn't find the school website particularly useful, there doesn't seem to be all that much information on there.

Our daughter is not super sporty, although she'll give most things a go, and does play hockey at her current school. She's average at music but not really great at it. She's quite academic and reads a lot, also quite arty.

Any opinions of past or present parents/people who live in the area would be greatly appreciated!

No opinion on Fettes itself, but if you are looking for schools in/near Edinburgh offering A levels then St George's, Edinburgh Academy and Loretto also offer them. St George's has some limited boarding and Loretto is a mix similar to Fettes. There are a lot of boarding schools which I'm pretty sure offer A-levels in/near Fife as well such as Glenalmond/Dollar/Strathallan.

i think either fettes or St George's would be good. I thought though fettes now did IB not A levels? They are very strong academically.
I send my daugters to St George's- they are younger though. I think that St G is adaptableto each child's strengths - some schools are very sports driven etc - St G is just as happy to nurture good art and drama etc. the boarding element is small as noted but i boarded there and liked it. You are then in an amazing city too.
Fettes is more of a 'proper' boarding school so Saturday school, chapel etc. more full on I would say. More expensive too!

I think DD is actually quite keen on the IB system, which is one of the reasons we were looking at Fettes, but we'll definitely have a look at the others. Thanks for the suggestions!
Also, DD wouldn't necessarily have to board, although she does want to. If we lived nearby a good school then we would be happy to send her as a day student.
